It has been less than a month and Instagram has jumped to version 2.2, which means another update although there has been no news for Android owners. On the official Facebook channel for Instagram you can see the frustration for some people, and this includes many polite requests asking, “Where’s the Android version” of Instagram?
What’s new in Instagram v2.2? The last update for iPhone happened on February 11 and included some minor changes, read more about these in our earlier article, and today’s update doesn’t feature that much more but we’re sure some iPhone owners will appreciate the “minor bug fixes” and ability to take faster photos in this new version.
The previous features are still there like unlimited uploads, free instant sharing to your favorite social networks like Foursquare, Twitter, and Facebook. The filters might be limited to some app users but considering the vast community to share photos with and that the price is zero dollars, what are you waiting for if you’ve not downloaded it already?
Disappointment from a number of Android phone owners that want Instagram — as with every iOS update it leaves Android users wondering why more time isn’t put into creating a version for their OS, although we’ve seen a few Facebook users suggest they “buy an iPhone“, which would not go down well with people that think Apple’s device is “overrated“.

Update: Having just tried Instagram with v2.2 installed we can confirm that it’s easier to use the camera within the app now, before it was better to use the iPhone’s default camera, and this is thanks to an instant preview added when saving images within Instagram. Will you use the camera within the app more now?
