Now that more information is starting to come out regarding Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception; we have now learned that developer Naughty Dog were thankful for the PSN outage, as it allowed them to make some improvements to the multiplayer functions. Well, nice to see that someone was happy even though millions of PlayStation Network users were suffering.
While Sony’s online gaming service was down there was no way for the Uncharted 3 developer to test out those multiplayer functions and see if there were any bugs that needed to be attended to. However, they would not be where they are now if they were not able to get around this issue; their answer was pretty simple really, include an option for LAN play.
We say simple, but they did have to write some new code to make such a thing possible; once that was done they were able to test things out. Save and Quit says that Naughty Dog has kept the feature and included it on the disc once it is released.
Speaking of release dates, the game will be available to buy from November 4, 2011, with a closed beta coming on June 28th. There is also to be a collector’s edition; but you need to part with $99.99 for the pleasure.
