Now that there are more 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray cars on the road (even though they have yet to be released to the public) we have now started to see a few of them being dyno tested, as this is a great way to see if the vehicle can achieve the sort of figures Chevy claim.
We can clearly see in the two videos below that the all-new Corvette C7 Stingray has plenty of power, but in the first test it is clear more is available thanks to an aftermarket part. We already know there is a more powerful version coming next year, but if you are one of the lucky ones to get a C7 this year, then there is a way to get a little more from the engine.
Improving 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray performance — This is easily explained in the first video because the tuning company running the dyno test has an aftermarket Corvette C7 Stingray air filter, and we can see there were gains of 15 to 20 horsepower more, not bad for a small item that is often one of the cheapest to upgrade the performance of a car.
The new 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray K&N filter is still a prototype, and so we have no idea when this will become available to the market.
In the second video is another C7 Corvette dyno test, and it is clear they were happy with the results because they praised GM for raising the bar. However, the figures were slightly lower than we had expected, although we feel this would have something to do with the C7 being in the wrong mode, and so would change certain characteristics of the car.
