Not for the first time, it looks like there are some problems with iMessage not working today, with users reporting that while iMessage is not completely down – it is not working as it should be.
We have taken a look ourselves and it seems as if there are still some problems with the service. As far as we’re aware, we can send messages whilst using iMessage on Mac, but those trying to use iMessage not iPhone are seeing problems with Apple sending messages as an SMS text instead.
It looks like we are not the only one experiencing problems with iMessage down today either, as this could have been a problem throughout the weekend for many users.
Have a look to see what others are saying about related iMessage problems on iPhone via social media:

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be an instant fix and we haven’t heard anything from Apple today. We know that iOS 7.1.2 is expected soon, but now Apple may have to issue an update immediately this week if the iMessage problems continue.
Have you experienced the same issue today, with iMessage forcing you to send messages as texts instead – even on a WiFi connection? Let us know your current status below.
