iBuypower Battalion 101 P151HM1 Gaming Laptop Spec Overview

iBuypower has recently added a new gaming laptop to their impressive list of offerings, this is the Battalion 101 P151HM1 and prices start at roughly $1199.

There are lots of optional upgrades to choose from, however no-matter what you choose you get a 15.6-inch Full HD widescreen display (1920 x 1080), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M (1.5GB) graphics, HDMI-out, an eSATA port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, Microsoft Windows 7, a 56k modem, a built-in 2 megapixel webcam and a cardreader.

There are three processors to choose from, as standard you get the Intel Core i7-2630QM mobile processor, however the i7-2720QM or the i7-2820QM are available at an extra price, also you get 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM (Corsair or equivalent), however for an extra $119 you can upgrade to 8GB.

As standard you get a 500GB SATA HDD, however there are plenty of other options to choose from, you can downgrade to a 320GB SATA HDD or upgrade to a 750GB SATA HDD, if you want an SSD instead there are plenty of options ranging from a 40GB Intel X25-V to a 240 GB Corsair Force Series F240.

In terms of optical drive you get a dual format DVD / CD writer as standard, however you can upgrade to a 4X Blu-ray drive which is capable of 8x DVD writing and 16x CD writing for an additional $139.

The only other internal hardware option you have is for the WiFi card, if you want something better than the standard WiFi b/g/n/ connectivity there are 3 options, two of which feature Bluetooth, the most impressive option is the Intel Ultimate-N 6300 a/g/n Wi-Fi card.
