Hyundai BlueOn electric car: Brief Specs & Release Date Info

Yesterday Hyundai revealed its BlueOn electric car, this car is based on their i10 hatchback, and Hyundai are hoping that it will help them close the gap with rival Japanese electric vehicle manufacturers.

Full specs are unknown at present, however it is said to be smaller than the soon to be released Nissan Leaf, in fact it is 34 inches shorter and has a 13 inch smaller wheelbase.

Apparently Hyundai plan to produce 30 vehicles for evaluation this year,if all goes to plan they will have manufactured 2,500 vehicles by the end of 2012, however they will only be available in South Korea.

Hyundai claim that the BlueOn will have a range of 86 miles from a single charge, it should be capable of a top speed of 80 mph, which should be more than adequate.

We have no idea of pricing, nor do we have an accurate release date, however Koreans should be able to get their hands on the BlueOn in late 2012.
