HTC’s online retail store service HTC PLAY

HTC has been getting a lot of attention in the news lately, with several of their mobile devices having success in the smartphone market. The company has found its groove when it comes to designing efficient mobile devices and now intends on widening the features of these devices with an app store.

Their own HTC PLAY app store, as it is known. HTC Watch is a video streaming service that the company has and now they will bring downloadable content to their customers with their latest store service.

This news comes form information of a trademark application from HTC to the USPTO for the use of the term HTC PLAY, listing conditions of what it can be used for all of which suggest an ‘app store.’ The categories applied for were retail store services for game software on mobile devices and computers, computer software for mobile devices and computers and internet software for the devices.

According to the article at Android Community the name of the term applied for by the company could suggest they just intend on launching a video games store however the categories in the application could suggest a complete retail store of all apps.
