There seems to be a dispute as to whether Apple is actually working on an iWatch because while rumors would suggest they are, Tim Cook had said they have no intention to make such a device for a while. Having said that, can we really trust what Cook says, especially as he said Apple was going to be more transparent?
However, one company that has been up front with its intentions in developing a smartwatch is HTC, and they have recently been discussing the progress of its entrant into what if fast becoming the next big thing in mobile technology.
There are three key aspects to the HTC smartwatch and those are design, quality and battery, all of which the company encompass into their smartphones, or so they say.
However, it is the HTC smartwatch battery that has been discussed in a recent interview between HTC Chairman Cher Wang and Bloomberg. He said that they had started to look into wearable devices several years ago and had to overcome battery issues, which he says they have now done so.
Battery life issues with smartwatches is nothing new because this has been a constant issue for other smartwatch makers as well as Apple, and if HTC is right and they have managed to get on top of this major problem, then we have to wonder why they have not been able to do so for their smartphones?
With that being said, looking towards the styling of the HTC One, we are full of confidence that HTC will build a smartwatch that is not only stylish with its design, but also with an emphasis on build quality.
We still have no idea when HTC plan to release its first smartwatch and if it will beat Apple and its iWatch to market, although by that time they will be playing catch-up to Samsung, as they are only a month or two away from announcing the Galaxy Gear 2, then again the less said about the current model the better.
