We have some news for T-Mobile HTC One owners now, coming in the form of a brand new software update from the US carrier that is now available for download. Unfortunately though, this update is by no means a major one, with T-Mobile confirming that it’s just a small update with a minor feature improvement.
Having said that, any official carrier support is better than none, so there’s still going to be many of you will be very appreciative of this. If you have your HTC One at the ready now, you can update to Android version 4.1.2 and software 1.27.531.8 via an OTA notification.
According to T-Mobile’s official update notes, the only change is an improvement to the Visual Voicemail application, which should now offer better performance during usage. As a result, this update is only 18MB in size but still needs the user to have at least 50% of battery life remaining.
It also looks the update is only available via OTA methods, but you can head to your device settings and attempt to push the update manually if you are yet to receive a notification. Not good for those who don’t use Visual Voicemail, but hopefully T-Mobile will be back with another update to Android 4.2.2 which sorts everyone out with a whole range of new features to enjoy.
If you have already installed the 1.27.531.8 update, let us know if you have noticed any other changes aside from the Visual Voicemail improvements that you think we should know about. Is T-Mobile now one of the best carriers in the US in your opinion, for providing official software updates in a timely manner? If not, who is the best for you at the moment?
