HTC One M9 inspired tablet sees powerful specs upgrade

It’s certainly been a while since HTC offered us a new tablet, and maybe 2015 could finally see that wait come to an end. There have been rumors for a while now that one was coming, and latest reports would seem to suggest a HTC One M9 inspired tablet.

We cannot hide the fact that the HTC One M9 handset was not the massive upgrade over the M8 that we had hoped, although that is very unlikely to be the case with its first tablet in years. If HTC does want to become a serious player in the tablet market, then it will need to see a range of very powerful specs.

Before we look at what specs we believe the tablet will have, there is the little matter of its name. Some people would have you believe that it is to be called the HTC T1H and there could also be an LTE version as well. If it will not be called that, then what would be a perfect name?

HTC tablet specs

HTC tablet specs for a 2015 release — Most recent rumors suggest that we are likely to see an 8.9-inch device with a screen resolution of 1530 x 2048. As for power; this could come in the form of a 2.2GHz octa-core H8 processor, at least 2GB of RAM and PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Storage wise; there is likely to be a 16GB and 32GB option, although higher could very well be possible.

In terms of cameras, there could be a 16-megapixel shooter to the rear and 8MP up front. We suspect it to come pre-installed with Android 5.0, or maybe slightly higher.

Possible unveil date — It’s pretty much speculation at the moment, but seeing as though HTC has an event planned for April 8th, this would be the perfect platform for the HTC tablet. A larger M9 handset is also expected to be unveiled, along with several other handsets.
