HTC One and Galaxy S4 update for Android 4.3

During Samsung’s second Unpacked event that took place at IFA earlier this month we got to see some amazing new products from Samsung, but what we did not get was details of when Android 4.3 would be coming to the Galaxy S4. However, we now have some information on this, along with a rival device as well.

The HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 have been at it since they were both released, and although they both share many things in common, they are also so very different. However, one thing they share is their OS, and they will soon be updated around the same time.

We have been hearing rumors that the HTC One update for Android 4.3 will happen at the end of the month, and looking on the website for the Canadian carrier TELUS, an update is due very soon. It states as of September 20, Android 4.3 for the HTC One is currently in testing and its status says due to be released end of September, which is any day now.

As for the Galaxy S4 update for Android 4.3 release date, this has yet to be made official either, but with a recent screenshot showing up on AndroidKurd we have to assume it will also happen later this month. With the HTC One being the closest rival to the S4, Samsung will want to offer the latest version of Jelly Bean as close to the rival device as possible.

This will not be a huge update for either devices, but it should help resolve a few bug fixes. The next version of Android will be 4.4 KitKat, and we presume the rumored Nexus 5 would be the first smartphone to get it, and the new Nexus 10 2013 model being the first tablet.
