The Nexus One did not get off to the flying start that Google had hoped — so not the iPhone killer as some were suggesting. However, the Android is still seen as a success in spite of poor sales — which shows how incredible Android is.
Sales have been as low as 135,000 in three months; this is according to Peter Chou, the HTC chief. However in the interview with Forbes, Chou seems to treat the Nexus One as a halo” phone — as it will be able to generate more business to the handset because of its profile.
The HTC chief made a point of stating that the Nexus One was the first handset to run Android OS 2.1, and the second to come packed with the popular Google Maps Navigation software.
Electronista knows that HTC cannot rely solely on one high-end smartphone — this is evident with the recent unveiling of the Desire and the EVO Sprint 4G – see full specs – the first 4G handset on the Sprint network.
Do you agree that the Nexus One is a truly incredible smartphone?
