HTC Nexus 9 release prediction before iPad event

We will shorty be into our tenth month and so it looks highly unlikely that we will see a new Nexus 7 for 2014, although if rumors of a larger Nexus 9 come to fruition, then we believe Android users will forgive Google for letting them down with the lack of a new tablet release so far this year.

The HTC Nexus 9 release date prediction – We reported in the past that the Nexus 9 would be released by the end of the year, and the latest rumor (see tweet below) would suggest that the new tablet will be introduced to the world on October 16th, which means Google and HTC will get in there before Apple introduces its new range of iPads.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPad Air 2 and the mini 3 on October 21st, although invites should be sent out on 14th. Some of you will believe that it would be silly to announce a new Android tablet so close to a new generation of iPad devices, but it doesn’t really matter.

HTC Nexus 9 release prediction

Google KitKat debuted on the Nexus 5 on October 31st, and so this timing could be spot on, which would also mean that the Nexus 9 would make use of Android L, which we had already assumed.

It will be interesting to see what Google does with the Nexus 10, as they could discontinue the model, or still offer it up as a budget-frinedly option. The thing is, the Nexus 10 may have a larger display than the rumored 9-inch model, but its hardware is almost two years out of date.

Were you thinking of buying the Nexus 10, if so have you held of your purchase to see if Google does announce the Nexus 9 next month?
