HTC Hero & Samsung Moment: Sprint’s Android 2.1 Release Info

Sprint have recently tweeted some information regarding the Android 2.1 updates for their HTC Hero and Samsung Moment smartphones, this will finally bring these handsets from the seemingly ancient Android 1.5.

Sprint are claiming that an Android 2.1 update will be available for these handsets sometime in early Q2 2010, however the carrier has not revealed a more accurate release date.

Samsung Moment owners have been frustrated with the lack of an Android 1.6 update, therefore an Android 2.1 update will be ‘welcomed with open arms’. Meanwhile HTC have been developing their Sense UI for Android 2.1, which has recently been revealed with their upcoming Desire and Legend handsets.

As we hear of a more definite release date we will keep you posted, for more information check out IntoMobile.
