HTC Droid Incredible: One Click Root for Android 2.2 Froyo Released

We have some good news for those of you looking for a safe root method on the HTC Droid Incredible, as the Unrevoked rooting team has just released a new version for Android handsets.

As reported from Droid-Life, Unrevoked v3.2 will now also work with a stock Android 2.2 Froyo handset, which means that this method will work on any Android version that you are currently running on your Droid Incredible.

The best thing about an Unrevoked root method, is that once you have installed some basic drivers on your phone, you’ll be able to root your device with their simple ‘1-Click’ feature, cutting out all the hassle of downloading tutorial guides and tons of files.

If you would like to try out the 2.2 root for the Droid Incredible, head over to XDA-Forums here for the download links.

I read in another thread that you might run into this problem if you still have your phone's stock drivers installed on your computer. Try removing those drivers before attempting to root. Can't say if it will work, but it's worth a shot.

I have stock 2.2 incredible and cannot get this to work. It ends up on "waiting for root"

Using ubuntu 10.10 i686. adb works fine. I can get into the phone's shell, push files, etc.
