HTC Droid Incredible: Battery Life Problems After Update To Froyo

While we understand that there are still some HTC Droid Incredible owners who are waiting for Verizon to push out the Android 2.2 Froyo update, it appears that there are a fair amount of problems for those that do have the update.

We’ve taken a look at our feedback received by those with the update, and the general consensus is that the new update is causing more problems than expected. Worse of all, the new update appears to be draining battery life at a higher rate than the previous software, and that some applications are starting up automatically whenever the phone is booted up, and cannot be closed down.

We haven’t heard anything from HTC or Verizon on this, so the problems cannot be labelled as widespread at the moment. If you have experienced a strange loss of battery life after updating to Android 2.2 Froyo – let us know how your handset is coping at the moment.

In some cases, some of you are also reporting that the update has deleted apps, as well as deleting contact numbers from your handset. Either way, it is not good reading for Verizon.

Can you confirm these problems on your Droid Incredible? We’ll update you if we hear anything from Verizon or HTC on this.
