HP TouchPad Accessories: Protect and Charge

The release of the HP TouchPad will only be one part of this new device; there will be the host of new accessories that will help to complement it. Before a number of third-party items start to appear on websites Palm thought that they would beat them to it by showing off three of their own. There are only three at the moment, but they are designed to charge, protect and also type.

Before we look at the three you have to remember that HP will be able to draw on some of the technology used by Palm for when they developed the Pre, which is fast approaching two years ago. What is the point of having a nice device like the TouchPad, if you do not have anything to complement it?

The first device that we have for you is the Touchstone, and works just like the one for the Pre smartphone. All you need to do is place your TouchPad on the stand/charger and it will start to charge automatically. Knowing that you do not need to plug anything in or make connection makes things much easier.

If you decide to protect your HP tablet then you are going to need the official case, as this will allow you to still charge while in the case on the touchstone stand. This accessory does not add much more weight to your tablet, as it has been made with lightweight material.

Finally we have the ultracompact, ultracompact keyboard. You can see that this is a wireless device and reminds us a little of the one that Apple has on their website — well apart from the color and a minor design change.

These are just three official accessories for the TouchPad, we are certain that HP/Palm will have more when we get closer to the release date. For more details on these visit the Palm website.
