HP Pavilion 14-B109WM Vs HP Pavilion 14-B133TX compared

Earlier this month we told you about the HP Pavilion 14-B109WM TouchSmart PC, which packed some decent specs for a very low asking price. Now as we approach the climax of the busy shopping season, we wanted to take another look at this laptop, specifically how the HP Pavilion 14-B109WM compares against the Hp Pavillion 14-B133TX – a similar model offering similar specs.

To recap, the HP Pavilion 14-B109WM is going to give you the chance to sample Microsoft’s new Windows 8 OS for a much lower price than normal. Specs of this laptop include 4GB of RAM, a 14-inch display, a 500GB hard drive and an Intel Celeron B877 Processor.

Now, compare these specs with the HP Pavillion 14-B133TX instead and you’ll find that the specs are much more luxurious – albeit for a much higher asking price. Features of the 14-B133TX in comparison include a 750GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM but a much better processor with an 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5-3337U.

Gaming on the HP Pavillion 14-B133TX is also much more accessible with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics card on board combined with 1GB of dedicated DDR3 RAM. This doesn’t compare to the HP Pavilion 14-B109WM, as gaming will be kept to basics with an Intel HD Integrated graphics card instead.

We’ve included a video review of the HP Pavillion 14-B133TX below which shows how this laptop can handle graphic intensive games such as GTA IV with no problems. Now comes the major difference in price. While the HP Pavillion 14-B133TX is retailing for just over $700, you may be able to pick up the HP Pavilion 14-B109WM for under $300 during the sales.

Is gaming important to you on a laptop at all costs, or are you willing to give up some performance aspects as long as the price is kept within your budget? If you have been looking at either of these models, give us your thoughts below.
