The new HP Envy 14 Series has gone down well with consumers, so much so that they have been hoping for an early release — or at least price details. It seems that the new 14.5-inch laptop starts at $1,009.99, but if you want to add a few bells and whistles then you will need to part with $2,139.99.
Ross Miller from Engadget has been looking closely to see what you get for that huge price tag? Keeping things running will be an Intel Core i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and an awesome 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 video card. We just hope that you have enough cash to pimp your HP Envy 14 up.
However, for those with a modest budget then the standard Envy with its Intel i3-370M, 4GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive and the same video card will do the job just fine. Yes it will not have the performance of the upgraded version, but most of us do not need all those hardware upgrades for everyday use.
HP claims that the Envy 14 series will offer up to 8 hours of battery life, but we are not certain you will get anything near those times once you start using it — something that we know all too well with other such devices.
