HP 15-AY198NR laptop review for Intel HD 620 gaming

Those who are looking for a laptop that has the potential to handle the latest games, we have another model to consider now by taking a look at the 15.6-inch HP 15-ay198nr laptop.

This model is going to be available with a discount this month during the sales, with Office Depot one retailer that could have stock available with a lower than normal price tag.

The HP 15-ay198nr is an upgrade on the HP 15-ay196nr as this one comes with a 256GB SSD as opposed to the previous model which ships with a 1TB hard drive.

Specs include a 15.6-inch HD touchscreen display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, a 2.7Ghz Intel Core i7-7500U Kaby Lake processor, 8GB of RAM, Intel HD 620 graphics, speedy USB 3.1 port and up to 10 hours of battery life which is very impressive.

As you can see it is packed with the latest features and thanks to the 7th gen Intel Core i7-7500 with Intel HD 620 you should be able to play the latest games on at least medium settings with no problems, or low settings with high FPS – this link has some handy HP 15-ay198nr benchmarks for gaming on Battlefield 1, Overwatch, FIFA 17, Infinite Warfare and many other new games.

While the processor and RAM are both very good, you do need to be aware that the display isn’t full 1080P, only 768p so it could be a turn off for you if you want to buy this laptop solely for gaming.

Still with a huge discount bringing the price of this model under $500, are you tempted? Unfortunately, as this is a brand new model for 2016 not on sale yet, there are no other professional HP 15-ay198nr laptop reviews yet – we just wanted to give you a heads-up on gaming potential.

Let us know your thoughts on this model and if you have any other questions for us about it.
