Honda Launches Fit: Hybrid Now On Sale

Last Friday we mentioned that The Honda Fit Hybrid version was to launch in Japan, but there was no conformation confirmation if and when the U.S will get the compact. We can now tell you that the fuel-efficient Fit is now on sale in Japan, with a price that converts to $19,370.

Inside Line explains that this latest model is aimed at the lower-end of the scale, with both the Insight and CR-Z hybrid vehicles. However, there are a few more expensive versions in the new Fit range, one of which will cost $25,585 after the Yen conversation.

Although the Honda Fit Hybrid has no plans to make it to North America, there will be a European version. The car will go on sale in the early part of 2011 — no details on price at this moment.

The new Fit is said to offer better fuel- efficiency than the Toyota Prius — its main rival. This Hybrid is perfect for those who do city driving, as it only has a small 1.3-liter engine working in conjunction with its electric motor.
