Honda knows that its domestic sales have been wavering against Toyota, but in an effort to improve things Honda has announced its plans to launch the compact hybrid Fit model. There is to also be a European model, but no mention of a plan to bring it to the U.S.
Hybrid cars cover 8 percent of the Japanese auto market, this has certainly improved over the years as drivers not only wish to save money on fuel costs, but also do their part to reduce carbon emissions.
It is no secret that the king of the Hybrid is the Toyota Prius, but after driving a standard version of the Honda Fit while on vacation Toyota should be worried. The car not only looked great from the outside, but the interior was also well thought out.
However, if Honda has any hope of competing with the Toyota Prius, then they need to release the compact hybrid Fit in the U.S. For more details on this visit WSJ.
