History at Your Fingertips: HistoryTools for iPhone

A great free application which gives users instant access to a day-by-day calendar of historical events has recently been updated. HistoryTools 1.5.2 is available for owners of the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

Released by Belling Productions Inc the app displays the births and deaths of the most famous people in history, feast days of the saints, and world holidays. All the information is available offline so no internet connection is needed.

The application has been created and kept up-to-date by Larry Belling, an American writer based in London. Users can add their own events and important dates. There are over 6,200 birthdays, 4,000 deaths, 5,700 events, and 600 date-specific holidays included in the app.

Users can fully search the information by words or particular years. To find out what births, deaths or events which happened in a certain year just enter the year in the search field.

HistoryTools 1.5.2 is available free on the App Store. iOS 3.1 or later required.
