Heartbleed bug prompts Gmail login change

Earlier on this week we spoke about the Heart Bleed SSL bug that was causing worry among consumers. Now, we bring the warning that the Heartbleed bug can also target Gmail email and Facebook logins.

With this in mind, we advise you to change your Gmail login and Facebook login as soon as possible if you haven’t already. You may not have had the chance to read up fully on the dangers of the Heartbleed SSL bug, but it looks like the warning signs are coming in at a plenty.

It’s no hoax either by the looks of it. Although Google and Facebook have already said that they have taken steps to protect users from this new security risk, we think you should still consider changing passwords as it is better to be safe than sorry.

To put your mind at ease, you can head to the SSL server test to see if a particular website you have been using has been caught up in the Heart Bleed risk. Perhaps more importantly, you may want to bookmark this website over at Github.

It lists the websites that are apparently vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug, although bear in mind that some of these websites such as Yahoo may have already fixed the problem. We already listed this website in our previous report, but we feel like it needs to be mentioned again for safe measures.

Let us know your thoughts on the panic spreading due to this bug. Have you already changed your Gmail email and Facebook login just to be safe?
