HD Voice Coming to Orange in 2010

In an attempt to differ from other UK carriers it seems that Orange will begin offering better audio quality of voice calls in 2010.

This better voice quality is being dubbed “HD Voice”, it is said to be achievable due to vast improvements made in WB-AMR (Wideband Adaptive Multi-Rate) technologies.

We are not sure exactly when this improved audio quality will be rolled out, however sources state that it will take place over the next 12 months.

Lately pretty much all of the developments made to carriers have been related to data communications, however voice call quality has not improved since 1991, for more details check out TheRegister.
