Harley Davidson recall hits gov website in Australia

Several days ago it had been reported that there was to be a recall for two Harley Davidson models, the Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles. This is a huge blow for bikers as this is the start of the biking season in the US, but safety comes first we’re afraid.

Things have now spread because the Harley Davidson recall has now hit the gov website in Australia. Seeing as though this country is in a different season it is not too much of a blow, that and the number of affected models are far lower as well.

Harley is recalling 66,421 models in the US because there is a risk that the front wheels could lock up because of a fault with the ABS. The affected models were built from July 1st 2013 to May 1st 2014.

Upon closer inspection of the Australian Government website, this is a completely different Harley Davidson recall. These FXDL Dyna Low Rider recalls affects just 124 models and has an issue with its engine. Some of these motorcycles have a fault with the top engine mount bracket assembly, as they have a resonant frequency the same as when the engine is running at 5800 RPM, which in turn can cause the ignition to switch off.
