Halo: Reach Multiplayer: HDD is “required for this game type”

There is no denying how popular Halo: Reach is, but it has certainly had its share of problems since its release such as “Freezing and Disc Errors on Old Xbox 360” and more. However, this latest problem seems to have slipped past us. It seems that all those with a 4GB Xbox 360 are unable to play Halo: Reach Multiplayer.

Any attempt to try and get into the action with other users will see the message HDD is “required for this game type” appear. This not only affects the new version of Halo, but ODST as well. Vlad Savov from Engadget reports that any attempt to try to solve this issue by connecting a USB flash drive will fail.

According to Eurogamer, Microsoft knows of this issue and is working hard to come up with a solution. This issue only affects campaign co-op mode and not standard multiplayer — so at least you can enjoy part of the game.

Has this issue affected you? Have you managed to find a workaround?
