Guardians of the Galaxy game after trailer excites

Today is a very exciting day for Marvel fans, as finally we can show you some Guardians of the Galaxy movie footage, thanks to the release of the very first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer.

As most of you know, Guardians of the Galaxy leaks had slipped out after Comic Con, but now we have the first look in HD of the movie that is set to send fans into excitement overdrive in August.

More importantly though, we want to turn our attention to the official Guardians of the Galaxy video game. More often than not, movie-based games turn out to be a complete failure and so we are saying our prayers early in the hope that this doesn’t happen with the Guardians of the Galaxy game.

At the moment, there is no official word on who will be developing the game, or which platforms it will be coming to. The Marvel fanatic inside us hopes that Marvel will make the right decision and choose a wise respected developer, a team who can really deliver the goods compared to previous failed efforts from other studios.

Having said that, it is worrying that we don’t have any footage of a game yet, considering the movie is due out this Summer. Has Marvel decided that they are fed up of the failed games too and decided that they don’t want to see further criticism?

To us, it’s an easy decision – hire a respected console studio and have them build an open-world game based on the Guardians of the Galaxy universe. Make it available for PS4, Xbox One and PC systems and you immediately have a fanbase who would love to play this style of game.

What we don’t want to see is a half-effort, lazy in-app purchase type of game that just serves as a quick cash-in. There is amazing potential with the Guardians of the Galaxy universe, so let’s hope that Marvel don’t make the wrong move.

Watch the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer below, give us your review and let us know what you would like to see from the Guardians of the Galaxy game. Do you support the idea for an open-world based RPG?
