GTA V: Secrets from trailer and your storyline theories

Open worlds, hookers and a round of golf – just some of the things you’ll be able to enjoy in Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto V game. The trailer has just been released, and if you’re struggling to piece together some of the teasers that Rockstar included in the clip, we have some information that will probably assist you in your quest.

First of all, if you have yet to see the trailer which we would find hard to believe, you can check it out again below for reference. For those that watched it when it went live on Rockstar’s website, what gameplay and storyline elements did you pick out of it? A useful article we’ve found over at Nowgamer helps to identify some of the key moments from the trailer, and perhaps you can help to put strength behind each one with your own opinions.

The first and obvious thing that we notice is the location. Grand Theft Auto will be set in San Andreas once again, as Rockstar confirm this aspect by showing the Vinewood sign at the end of the trailer. Next up is the setting for the game, and it looks like it will be set in the modern day which will please a lot of you. GTA: San Andreas was released in 2004 and set back in 1992 if you remember that game, so it’s refreshing to see Rockstar try their hand at a modern style GTA game this time around.

Aside from the typical GTA-style jetskis, bikini babes and beaches, we also see a further hint in the trailer about a modern day setting for the game due to the inclusion of a homeless man begging on the streets for money – a possible indiction that recession will be part of the main storyline in GTA V perhaps?

Other hints from the trailer include the possibility of having multiple playable characters in the game, complete with their own set of storylines. We didn’t see any focus on one particular character in the trailer which is a bit odd, although we did see the spotlight fall to the suited man below – do you have any ideas who he might be and what his role is in the game?

If you need a refresh of events, watch the trailer again below and let us know your ideas about the GTA V storyline below. Have you solved the puzzle or are you waiting for further hints from Rockstar like us?
