Seeing retailers change Grand Theft Auto 5 release date placeholders is nothing new, although some gamers feel that the latest change with Amazon holds a lot more weight than previous rumors. If you haven’t heard, it seems that those of our readers that pre-ordered GTA V with Amazon are being given a new release date by email. This launch date falls towards the end of March, which is right next to another big title that’s developed by a company owned by Take-Two Interactive. This game is called BioShock Infinite, and some gamers feel this is a big enough reason to doubt the latest GTA V release date.
We’d love to see GTA V launch in March, sooner the better considering the amount we’ve been teased over the last few months. It is fair to say March is busy with a number of new games, which include Fuse, a new God of War, Tomb Raider, and of course BioShock Infinite that’s developed by Irrational Games. Grand Theft Auto fans will purchase the game no matter what month it falls in, although for Rockstar and Take-Two to choose the same month BioShock Infinite launches in doesn’t seem right.
Do you think Take-Two would want both GTA V and BioShock Infinite to launch in the same month? If this is something not favorable with Take-Two, then you can forget about the latest release rumor via Amazon’s slight change, although where does this leave us for a launch date? Nothing is official just yet, but we’d expect retailers to be given a couple of months notice, so we should still keep an eye on any changes retailers make. In our opinion the March claim isn’t going to happen, although we’d love to hear your thoughts on March in the comments.
Spring is the official launch window for GTA 5 and this season varies by cultures although the game will arrive between March and May, which is the spring timeframe for the UK and USA. If we count BioShock as a big enough reason to avoid March, then we are left with April and May for a GTA 5 release date.
GTA 5 landing in April or May, what do you prefer? The last Grand Theft Auto game landed at the end of April in Europe and North America, which only adds to the likelihood of April and May for a GTA 5 launch. We’re happy to see the next incarnation land in the same month again, and this makes sense considering the game line-up in March, but we’d love to hear your thoughts below. You can also read about what could be after GTA 5 in this article, which is thanks to a few comments made by Leslie Benzies.
