GTA V April Fools for 1.12, PS4 update

Considering Grand Theft Auto V’s popularity, we expected some gamers to deliver news on April Fools Day in regard to the GTA V 1.12 update and a PS4 or Xbox One release date. Some of these forum threads were interesting to read, although others are very lame attempts to fool people into thinking DLC or an update had been released.

GTA V on April Fools 2014 – we have seen a number of forum posts and messages on Facebook or Google Plus today, and one of the first posts landed on GTA Forums highlighting what’s changed in the GTA V 1.12 release notes. This is of course not true, although it made a great read along with some Happy April Fools messages.

Some of the other threads just highjacked what had already been published and went along the lines of being optimistic for the GTA V 1.12 update to arrive really soon. The fact is, the update is due in the coming days anyway after looking at release patterns.

Other attempts included social media posts claiming, “The next GTA 5 DLC will include zombies” and came with a so-called release time for when this content will launch. Again, some of these help pass the time while waiting for the true update to arrive.

There’s even been videos uploaded to YouTube, which claim GTA V will release on PS4 and Xbox One today. You can see one such attempt at an April Fools joke in the video we embedded below.

This isn’t the first time GTA V has been involved in April Fools Day jokes, and we even saw such jokes 2 years ago, which is of course a long time before the game launched.

What’s the best April Fools joke you’ve seen this year, especially if it’s related to GTA V?

If you want to read some solid news from a few days ago, then feel free to read about the GTA V Heists payout for DLC and priority for add-ons including a second garage to store cars in. These rumors came from hints found within the game, so you can expect solid information if you haven’t read those articles yet.
