GTA V Heists update saved for RP event

The Grand Theft Auto V 1.14 Heists update has to be the main reason why we’re not seeing Rockstar offer a multiplayer Memorial Day Weekend event with 3XP again. Some of our readers expected a GTA V event before the 1.14 Heists update, and it was this weekend just before Memorial Day on Monday.

While Rockstar didn’t have this game released on Memorial Day Weekend last year, we did see Max Payne 3 and Red Dead included in a special event until Tuesday morning. Now that we are on Saturday and there’s been no announcement on the official blog, you can expect no double or triple RP in GTA Online this Memorial weekend.

We have included a picture below that was featured this time last year by Rockstar, revealing they do like to recognize Memorial Day and the weekend before with their games.

GTA V 1.14 Heists update given attention – around this time last month we highlighted the deadline for a GTA V Heists release date that’s at the end of spring on June 20. This leaves plenty of time for an event this weekend and another later on nearer that date, unless Rockstar plan to release the GTA V 1.14 Heists update right at the start of June, which we know would make our readers really happy.

We pinpointed our expectation for the next patch on a calendar for June 10th, which is just over 2 weeks and considering we only had an event last week with extra crate drops, it might make sense to hold off as too many makes them less special for gamers.

Do you think Rockstar should do a Memorial event weekend every year rather than pick when it best suits them? Or, would the timing not work with their GTA V 1.14 and Heists update in your opinion?

The moment the next patch goes live we will let Product Reviews readers know, and most likely be first and even beat Rockstars Newswire to the news like we have for the last 4 updates. Make sure you follow us on our social channels to be the first to know.
