Grand Theft Auto III: 10 year edition with iOS and Android app

The Grand Theft Auto franchise is an extremely popular one that has recently seen the announcement of GTA 5 revealed to the world. While we wait for any possible release dates we can tell you about a Grand Theft Auto III ten year anniversary edition, which is set to be released for iOS devices as well as the Android platform.

Rockstar Games has announced a new version of the game that will be released for both the iOS and Android platforms on December 15th. According to iPodnn though it won’t work on some mobile devices because of the graphical demands of the game. It will be available for owners of both versions of the iPad and the iPhone 4 and 4S.

Owners of the iPod Touch 4G can also download the $5 game as well. Meanwhile on the Android platform only the following handsets are supported; HTC Rezound, T-Mobile G2x, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, and Samsung Galaxy R.

There are a number of Android tablet PCs that are also supported as well, which includes the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Dell Streak, Toshiba Thrive, Sony Tablet s, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1.

Currently Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed many details about the game except the fact it will make use of a number of screen buttons. This is to try and mimic the flexibility of controls found on the PC and console controls. The game was first released in 2001 with players rising up through the Liberty City crime world by completing a variety of missions.

Just like other recent games in the franchise GTA III is an open world title that allows gamers to go anywhere causing as much chaos and destruction as they wanted. This should continue with the mobile version of the game once it has been released.
