Gran Turismo 7 PS4 release date will be in 2014

We have some very exciting news for Gran Turismo fans out there. Gran Turismo 6 may be preparing to launch next month, but some fans are not interested after it was confirmed that it wouldn’t land on PS4. However, now we have confirmation from Polyphony Digital that Gran Turismo 7 is already in development and that the PS4 will finally get its GT fix very soon.

It almost seems a bit strange that PS4 gamers do not have a Gran Turismo game to play at launch. Decisions were made though and Gran Turismo 6 is heading to PS3 only in December. Now though, for the first time, developers Polyphony Digital have confirmed to Top Gear that Gran Turismo 7 on PS4 is due out sometime in 2014.

When speaking to Top Gear, the great Kazunori Yamauchi had this to say:

“We don’t want to take too long on Gran Turismo 7. Best-case scenario? Next year.”

Major bombshell right there and it poses some interesting thoughts. Mainly, the fact that the team are able to get GT7 released so quickly after GT6 considering the development time for previous games in the series.

Do we have the PS4 hardware to thank for this? – Either way, Polyphony Digital have just confirmed Gran Turismo 7 on PS4 for 2014. Time to get excited.
