We know how many times Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed, and it is for that reason why some fans decided to cancel their pro-orders. However, there are two reasons why they should reconsider their actions. The first is because the release date could be on November 30, and the other is how stunning 3D is said to be.
CVG reports that when Esquire UK interviewed Blitz boss Andrew Oliver, he had an amazing complement to pay GT5 “I’ve seen Gran Turismo 5 running in 3D and it’s stunning,” he said. “It is a major step forward. It’s gaming’s Avatar.” I wish I could agree with him, but when I tried to view the 3D version at the recent Eurogamer Expo 2010, there seemed to be an issue with the active shutter glasses.
We do hope that Oliver is right, because if he is, then we are in for a treat. Avatar was the first movie to truly show how far 3D technology had advanced. It was this movie that has helped 3D TVs get off the ground, so will GT5 also help this new market?
I have seen 3D TV before in a electronics store, and the active shutter glasses were working then, and I can tell you that the experience is far better than watching a 3D movie at the cinema with those cheap glasses they give you. Did you get to play Gran Turismo 5 in 3D, if so what did you think?
