GoPro Hero 5 Black forces Garmin Virb Ultra 30 price drop

Well, it would seem as though Garmin has been forced to drop the price of its Virb Ultra 30 action camera. This does seem a very strange move seeing as though it was only launched last month, but then again the GoPro Hero 5 Black has been released since then.

The thing is, the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 price drop was inevitable seeing as though it was $500, which is $100 more expensive than the Hero5 Black, which is a huge difference when you consider more people are likely to go for the latter. We are not saying that it is better because we have not tried either of them out, although based on past history, and GoPro’s reputation, we have to say we know which we would rather go for.

However, it’s the cheaper price tag that could have spelled disaster for Garmin, hence why the cost of the Virb Ultra 30 action camera is now $400, a full $100 off its usual price. While we are not certain if this is in retaliation to the new GoPro, the timing and the same price tag would seem to confirm that it is.

Anyway, it does not really matter because all we know is that it is great news for those of you that much prefer the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 over the GoPro Hero5 Black, as things have now been made much simpler for you because of this price match.

So, which of the two would you rather now they are priced to compete with each other?
