Google TV: 42-inch Android model brings Google Maps

We have some good news for those of you looking to pick up a TV powered by Google Android in the coming months, as we have details on the first model and company that will be making it.

As reported from Pocket-Lint, a Swedish company known as ‘People of Lava’ will be making the TV, and has stated that beta testing will begin this Summer.

A 42-inch model will be tested first, followed by 47 and 55-inch bigger versions. The TV will come equipped with Google Maps, along with a web browser, various apps and streaming capabilities.

Using Google Maps on a big screen TV could prove to be quite useful before setting out on travels or holiday, so we’re interested to see what the company comes up with.

We’ll update you when we hear more – give us your thoughts on this.
