Google+ social network invitation for Android, iPhone app imminent

Yesterday there was a new service launched called Google+, which was a social network project by invitation only at this time. We discussed all about how the new service works and how it differs from their past attempts, but this really looks to be the real deal this time. For those who were lucky enough to receive a Google Plus invitation would have also found that they could download an Android app as well.

There is not yet one for the iPhone, but Engadget expects it to be imminent. For now iPhone users will have to gain access to the latest Facebook rival on Safari mobile. Being able to access Google+ on a mobile device will be a big part of Google’s plan, as they know that more and more people are joining Android — 500,000 new activation a day to be precise.

Google has tried so many times to offer an alternative to Facebook, but as yet have not been able to succeed. However, we really do think that this time is different, but being the new social network service needs more than ever to thrive in the mobile market. They are just lucky to own Android.

The likes of Facebook, Twitter etc need to work hard in order to work well with Android, iOS etc, but Google+ will have no such hassle, as they will have the ability to offer deep Android integration. Do not expect this to be a juggernaut from the start, think of it as an old rusty bike, which in time with a bit of love and care will be able to keep pedaling away until they find themselves with enough users to take on the might of Facebook — but that’s a long way off.

Facebook is not the giant they once were, and we have seen that there are a few weaknesses, such as losing thousands of users per day. All Google has to do is appeal to these old Facebook users and offer them something new, different and exciting. Over time they will then contact their friends they used to know on Facebook and ask them to join Google+ as well.

Google has been making strides to make the Internet a better place; the latest Panda update has proven that. OK, we know that it is not perfect, as there are a number of websites stealing others content, such as ours. However, in time they will get their, and their search engine aims to have a much deeper integration with social media; you only have to see their new Google+ 1 feature. If you like a website you can then share it with your friends; this is just the start people so join Google on their ride.

This is something else then luck, I think.
