Google quiet on YouTube outage, and MSN down

Millions of us around the world would have noticed that YouTube was down this morning, for those who visited the website you would have been met with an “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable” message, which we reported in a recent post.

CNN say YouTube had a “technical issue”, but Google have yet to make any sort of statement with details of the downtime. While writing this, is down as well, but we know that Bing is still up. Strange things are going on —last night Wikipedia servers overheated and took the online encyclopedia down.

YouTube is back up and was only down for an hour, when CNN asked Google what the problem was; the spokeswoman said that Google is not commenting “at this time.” There have been a number of comments saying that this could have something to do with China no longer censoring search results. Not certain if we share the same views.
