Following on from the aftermath of tablet announcements at CES 2011, MWC 2011 and CTIA 2011, we are hearing rumors that a new challenger may be entering the fray. That challenger is none other than Google as there are whispers that they may be planning to bring a Nexus tablet to market.
Yes that’s right, a Google Nexus tablet to join along side the Google Nexus S which is already available. However, perhaps the most interesting aspect of this, is that it may be built by LG, according to Mobile-Review as translated by BGR.
This may be a surprise manufacturer of choice for some of you, so how do you feel about this? Would you be happy with LG building the device, or would you prefer the likes of Samsung, who built the Nexus S, or HTC who built the first Google Nexus phone and have seemingly fallen out of favor with Google these days.
The source also states that this Nexus Tablet may be releasing sometime during Summer, or into the early part of Autumn, meaning we could see this thing on the shelves in September. It is an exciting prospect for sure, as it may even be the first device to ship with Google Ice Cream OS, the next version after Honeycomb – now that would be worth looking forward to.
Give us your thoughts on the idea of a Nexus tablet by LG – Good business move or not?
