Google Nexus One: Handset to arrive with Spotify US release?

Some interesting news to report now, as it has been rumored that the upcoming Google Nexus One phone will launch alongside the long-awaited US release of the popular music streaming service, Spotify.

As reported from Pocket-Lint, the free PC edition of Spotify could come to US shores as early as January 5th, but this could tie in with a deal with Google to have the mobile version of Spotify appear on Google Android 2.1, launching with the Nexus One handset.

We are also hearing details that Google are prepared to ‘cover’ the fees to record labels if they decide to integrate the Spotify app with Android.

Nothing is confirmed yet, so we’ll update you when we hear more on this. Let us know your thoughts on the rumors.
