Google Maps v4.4 For BlackBerry: Built-In Navigation Update Wanted

Google Maps for BlackBerry has now had an update to take the software to version 4.4, which includes a new feature called “Google’s Places”. This allows BlackBerry users to find gas stations, attractions, restaurants, ATMs, and more fast.

Once you found what you want, you can use the items Places page to find out all you need to know about the location. Google Maps v4.4 also includes a few background fixes, which should keep things running smooth.

You can download v4.4 for BlackBerry OTA here. Some users are still complaining about the performance of Google Maps on BlackBerry devices, and say it runs much more smooth on Android devices, do you agree?

One common feature that BlackBerry users want – read comments on Crackberry – is a built-in navigation option that can be found on Google Maps for Android. Google may not release this for some time, leaving it as a perk for Android users.

Have you updated to v4.4? What features do you still want?
