Google Earth Street View and NYC Facades

Back in 2009 a host of cities got detailed facades thanks to Google Earth, after Street View updated its imagery and mapped them onto the sides of the buildings. This system has now been updated for New York City, and we have to say that they look great.

Google Earth Blog is unsure how much of the Big Apple got this new imagery treatment, but they report that it is a lot. If you go ahead and give it a go you will notice that the coverage can be a bit patchy at times, but most of Manhattan has been covered.

According to Google LatLong blog the street level detail is amazing and makes it easier than ever to visit New York virtually. You will be able to see the facades of residential and commercial buildings, as well as storefronts. View the video below.
