Google Celebrates Earth Day 2010 with Doodle

Today is Earth Day 2010 and to help spread the word, Google has a Doodle on some of their homepages. Millions of people around the world will be doing their bit to show how much they appreciate the world that we live in, such as events and activities.

This is the 40th Earth Day, which began back in 1970 by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson in Philadelphia. This event is great in the way that people from all gender and race can come together to celebrate something that they all have a passion for — it is certainly a nice thing to see.

Earth Day 2010 will be more important than ever to help promote environmental issues, thanks to a number of high profile celebrities spreading the word, such as Leonardo DiCaprio. Even the best selling movie of all time will do its bit, as Avatar is released on Blu-Ray today. This movie also has a message, if you have not watched the movie where have you been?

What will you be doing on Earth Day 2010?
