Motorola Droid X / 2, Samsung Galaxy S, and more take on Apple’s iPhone

Smartphone choice has probably never been greater, but two main players are emerging from the rest of the pack. In one camp you have people who love the Apple iPhone and it’s simple to use interface in a tightly marshaled user experience. And on the other side you have the Android fans that are rapidly growing in numbers.

JR Raphael of Computerworld.com has written an article listing the top five iPhone rivals, and going through the various handset options. The Motorola Droid X and its 4.3-inch display and powerful 1-GHz processor is one to be considered, and the fact it should be getting Android 2.2 anytime soon.

Another option for some could be the Samsung Galaxy S, which is not only stylish but powerful with it. And as different carriers add their own features like Sprint’s having a pull out keyboard, there will be no shortage of options to choose from.

The latest handset to the Android camp is Motorola’s Droid 2 with its slide-out QWERTY keyboard and 3.7-inch screen. Added to that is its nice new 1-GHz processor and twice the RAM of the model it replaced. The story goes on to compare the HTC EVO and Droid Incredible.
