Google Android Gingerbread: Release date Info Revealed Google I/O

Not too long ago we revealed that the next version of Google Android (following 2.2 FroYo) would be code-named Gingerbread, we are now hearing details regarding this mobile-OS version.

It is thought that the release of Android 2.2 FroYo will come next month (June), at the ongoing Google I/O event information suggested that Google Gingerbread will come during Q4 2010, perhaps in December.

Currently we are unsure what version number Android Gingerbread will begiven, personally I think either 2.5 or 3.0 would be suited. I would imagine if Google are going to make a huge amount of changes to Android for their Gingerbread release they may give it a version number of 3.0.
