What a month it’s been for Google’s new social network, Google+, the invite only system has paid off with millions of people joining and wanting to be part of the action. The response from our personal circles shows that most people think Google+ is better than Facebook, although it lacks the amount of friends they have on Facebook. So the one thing holding people back from switching fully seems to be friends, and if the movement keeps picking up speed, then this problem may be solved sooner rather than later.
We’re sure Mark Zuckerberg will have a plan, and if they can add some of the slick Google+ features to Facebook, people may stay rather than move to the slicker new social network. If you need a Google+ invite, feel free to contact me at Daniel (at) product-reviews.net. If you want to follow me on Google+, then you can put us in a circle here.
Google has a massive amount of services and seems to be buying out new technologies, or launching new services every month. With this amount of services under one brand, you’ll be sure to see more integration over time and this includes a new service by Google called “Photovine”. This new photo social network service was launched quietly within the last few days, and the iPhone app was exclusive to Apple at the time of writing. This shocked many Google Android users that want to try the Photovine app, which is tagged “plant a photo, watch it grow”.
Photovine will let iPhone users take a photo and share it directly in the application, friends can then view the photo and create “vines”, which are basically topics created by the users to hold loads of photos. You can see a short promotional video below this article, which shows a new “vine” being created called “warm and fuzzy”, in here you’ll put nice photos of things you feel are warm and fuzzy like puppies. Check out the video below and let us know what you think of Photovine.
Both the Photovine app on iPhone and Google+ are invite only, and while Photovine is not integrated into Google’s social network yet, be sure to see something happen in the near future. If you’re wondering how we know the service is part of Google, just check out the privacy page that reads, “Photovine is offered by Slide (part of Google Inc).
Do you think Google should brand the service a little more with its logo? If you have used Photovine, please share your thoughts, also do you like the invite only test model that Google is known for?
