Exciting news here today regarding two of the most anticipated games of the year so far, God of War IV and Syphon Filter 4, as UK gaming magazine, PLAY has announced they are to be officially revealed next month.
Both games have been rumored to be launching in 2012 for a while now, although nothing official has been announced as of yet. Last year we brought you news that a New Zealand based online retailer had listed God of War IV in their inventory, dated September 28th 2012. This news not only suggested the game was in development but that is would be hitting shelves this year. More recent news has led to yet more confirmation that the game is incoming, as composer Timothy Williams had it listed on his CV.
Syphon Filter 4 meanwhile had originally been expected to be announced at E3 2011, with several sources claiming Sony would reveal the release date. Again nothing official was announced although a Q4 2012 release was signified and SCE London was suggested to be working on the title. PLAY’s revelation also confirms this with a winter release being signified. Both games will be PS3 exclusives and are said to be in deep development.
Details about the games themselves are still yet to be revealed, although PLAY’s description, reported by Sillegamer, claims there will be an online element added to God of War IV after an online developer was reported to have joined the Sony Santa Monica team. Syphon Filter 4 is thought to include much from the other series including espionage, third-person shooting and Gabe Logan. We will just have to see what develops next month before we can really start to get excited.
What do you think of the news that these two games are on the way? Are you looking forward to either of them?
