GM Recall: China unaffected by U.S recall – General Motors

Following on from our earlier report, which informed you about General Motor’s decision to recall 1.3 million autos in the U.S, the company has just stated that China will not be affected by this recall.

As reported from Reuters, selected models in the U.S are being recalled over a power steering problem, but Chen Shi, vice president of GM China has spoken out on if it would affect them or not.

“I can tell you in a responsible way there’s no impact on the Chinese market.”, he said when speaking at a recent event in Beijing.

He also stated that GM in China are working closely with government agencies following the recall, so we can expect that more details will be released this week.
