Give your kids a head-start: QuickReader 2.1 for iPhone

A popular eBook reader and speed reading app has recently been relaunched in time for the new school year. QuickReader Young Readers edition has got 132 children’s classic stories aimed at girls and boys aged between 8 and 13.

Released by Portland based Inkstone the app helps children to develop their reading skills by teaching them speed reading techniques. This helps them to focus and finish their homework faster, and also helps them increase comprehension and stop back-tracking.

The latest speed reading technology is used in the app, and the user can choose their preferred font size, color, and margins to give them the best experience possible. An eye-tracking guide highlights word groups as they are read. QuickReader is suitable for all abilities with speeds ranging from 100 to 4000 words per minute.

A Young Reader user aged 11 increased her reading speed and said “This has helped me get through my schoolwork much faster and improve my scores on reading tests. My last state test had me at a 9th grade reading level – not bad for an eleven year old! ”

Some of the classic tales in the app include Black Beauty, Peter Pan, Robin Hood, and many more. All the books in the app are preloaded so no internet connection is required.

QuickReader 2.1 is available on the App Store for $5.99. Requires iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad with OS 3.0 or later.
